NEWS OF PLACENTA ON ALTAR: WITNESSES TESTIFY BEFORE COURT




Justice Bode Adegbehingbe of the Ondo High court sitting in Akure Judicial division has directed that counsels handling case before him cooperate at paving way for quick Justice.


The Presiding Judge in his words to counsels handling case of false publication and alleging the founder of the Promiseland Prophetic Ministry located along Shasha area in Akure, Pastor Gbenga Akinbiyi and some other members of the church on the  allegation of planting placenta on the altar and some ritual  matter before him.


The ten new criminal count charges have been levelled against a Don at Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko and a Clergyman before the High Court .


The Don, Prof Lanre Olu-Adeyemi who is standing trial on five (5) count charges of conspiracy, publication of false news, Aiding  Publication of false news and aiding impersonation.


On the other hand, one Pastor John Abiodun is facing eight Count charge of conspiracy, publication of false news, Perjury, Impersonation and threatening violence amongst other.


 The prosecuting couusel, Kayode Dare who has filled and listed  nine (9) witnesses in the suit and as at present brought  five (5)  before the court to give their various testimonies on the matter, as it remains four (4) others.


The witnesses were,Ajidahun Emmanuel Jeminiyi, Olaiya Adeola, Abayomi Ojo,Ayileka Charles and Oluwaseyi Adeyanju gave their testimonies in the matter.


According to the witnesses during the cross examination, the allegations of false publication were established and issue relating to planting of placenta on the altar were said not to have existed.


The defending counsels, Adelanke Akinrata and Emmanuel Emondari during the cross examining the witnesses asked various leading questions as the Presiding Judge, Adegbehingbe noted that counsels should concentrate on issue pertaining to the case.


While the matter has been adjourned till 8th day of June,2020 for further hearing on the matter.
