COVID-19 : ONDO PDP GETS INTERIM COMMITTEE
The People's Democratic party (PDP) Ondo state has constituted an interim caretaker committee to pilot the affairs of the party, with latest to the development of the pandemic COVID-19 across the globe.
In a release by the director of media and publicity of the party, Zadok Akintoye said all members of the party are informed based on the instruction of the National Secretariat, that an interim Caretaker Committee be inaugurated to manage the party until the full completion of State Congresses.
Noting that the party appreciates the sacrificial efforts of all leaders in midwifing a smooth transition of power from the State Excos to the Caretaker Committee under the Chairmanship of Engr. Clement Faboyede, which is expected to run the affairs of the party in an interim capacity for an initial period of three months, pending the completion of the state congress.
Saying, the COVID-19 global pandemic which has ravaged many nations and has compelled the lockdown of the state, which also has been the chief reason why the state congress has not held.
Adding that, once the ban on public gathering is lifted and conditions permit, the Caretaker Committee shall proceed to completed the already begun process of the state congresses across the state.
While the party appeal to all members of the party and the general public to do all to maintain peace during this very trying period, praying that GOD ALMIGHTY will protect as all navigate through this pandemic period.
