The N-POWER  health corps working in Ondo stat has cried out to the state and federal government to quickly come to their aid and protect them against the pandemic Corona virus disease all over.

According to a statement by one of the beneficiary from Ondo North  senatorial district, Adeola Fabilola said most of the N-POWER health beneficiaries working at various health institutions across the state risk their dear lives without proper safety preventive measures around their environment.

In the statement, " most  of our , N-POWER health beneficiaries that in Ondo state are working at rural environment, where we have contacts with the grassroots people, imagine hardly do we have any preventive measures in place, and while our counterparts in other sectors like education, Agriculture etc were not being exposed to same  hazardous situations like ours, yet we were given  same allowance".

" We therefore call on the state and federal government  to quickly come into our rescue at this crucial period of Corona virus either we stay at our homes like our counterparts or the government give us special incentive and necessary precautionary measures in the interest of our dear lives".

Meanwhile, in a statement by the press officer of the health ministry, Abooluwa Famakinwa said the state government as a preventive measure, met with religious leaders in the State, to rub minds on how to prevent gathering for religious purposes as a strategy to forestall the outbreak of the deadly virus and stem the tide if there is outbreak eventually.

The Commissioner for Health, Dr Wahab Adegbenro said preventative measures which he described as the antidote to the outbreak and spread of the corona virus , is of utmost necessity as even nations that are referred to as world giants have shut down their countries both economically and socially because of the corona virus which is threatening to wipe out the entire human race.

Dr Adegbenro said social distancing is now compulsory, so, heads of religious organizations should discourage gathering of more than ten people, handshake, holding hands to pray, using the same Holy Communion Cup amongst others.

He called on the federal government to rise up to the challenge of preventing and stemming  the  tide as the financial burden is beyond the state.
