PLACENTA ON CHURCH ALTAR IN ONDO...Judge insist on prosecution
Justice Olabode Adegbehingbe of the Ondo state High Court sitting in Akure has directed that the criminal case against Dr.Lanre Olu-Adeyemi of Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba-Akoko (AAUA) and one Pastor John Abiodun before him will take the due process of prosecution.
The Judge said criminal cases according to the constitution can not just be abruptly quashed without due prosecution of such, since the trial has begin.
The lecturer , at Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba-Akoko was charged on two count charge of falsehood publication and conspiracy, while the pastor was arraigned for seven (7) count ranging from conspiracy, publication of false news, perjury, impersonation, threatening violence amongst other.
The accused persons were alleged of publishing fake and false publication against Pastor Gbenga Akinbiyi of Promiseland Prophetic ministries Akure.
Justice Adegbehingbe held and advise that the counsels should be ready to make due prosecution of the case, not to just at the mid of issue agreed outside the court room at settling the case out of court, without due prosecution.
While the prosecuting counsel, Barrister Micheal Dare and the defence counsels, Barristers Adelanke Akinrata and Femi Emodamori agreed that the case be adjourned till 26th, 30th, March and 3rd of April, 2020 for proper hearing of the case.
The Judge, Justice Olabode Adegbehingbe had earlier granted each of the accused persons with bail term conditions in like some with sum of five hundred thousand (#500,000) with their sureties who must have a landed properties in Akure, the state capital.
Counsels to the Promiseland Prophetic ministries, led by Barrister Tunji Osho was at the court for the matter.
