The Akeredolu led administration in Ondo state has assured the citizenry of her commitment towards good basic education at the primary level as the foundation to development.


Speaking, Princess Oladunni Odu, chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board ( SUBEB)  in Ondo state  said since inception of the present administration in the state, a lot of steps have been taking towards achieving positive development of Primary education in the state, as the state can rank high amongst the best in the country.


According to her ,the present administration has to pay-up backlog arrears of over four years counterpart fund in order to be able to access grants acrued to the state.

While the SUBEB boss informed that the state education board has been able to access #13 billion for various projects ranging from building structures, provision of furniture for schools',  buying of ICT equipment, and monitoring.


Odu posits that there are 1,233 public primary schools across the whole eighteen local government areas of the state, and the present administration through SUBEB  executed 672 various construction projects,sink 93 boreholes and furnished over 933 with ICT equipments of quality standard.


She also added that promotion and welfare of the workers are Paramount to the state government, as nothing less than 3,000 teachers have been promoted, while salaries were paid as at when due.


While the SUBEB boss appreciates the geinue commitment of the Akeredolu-led administration at giving children at the public primary schools same leverage of conducive environment and provision of amenities and infrastructures for learning.
