The recent actions of the South Western Governors' at repositioning the security apparatus in the zone through operation Amotekun have continued to received kudos from eminients Nigerians.
A council chairmanship aspirant in Ifedore Local Government Area of Ondo state, Barrister Awoseye Collins, has said the implementation of the Amotekun security initiative will chart a new course for Nigeria.
Awoseye, who is seeking nomination to contest the April 18 council chairmanship poll on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), hailed the southwest governors for the initiative.
The chairmanship aspirant said the governors had earned the favour of history with the Amotekun vision and their strong commitment to its implementation.
He called on them to forge ahead with their idea of how best to secure their region since they had the support of the people.
Awoseye said: "I think the best thing that would happen to the people of the southwest in recent times is the birth of Amotekun. It has shown that the Yoruba people have not lost their sense of unity.I support it and I am for it. This is a good laudable programme, I call on sons and daughters of the Southwest to embrace it.
"Amotekun has now become a serious test of the courage of our leaders and their love for the region and her people. It is my prayer that they will not fail this test.
"I commend our governors, especially Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, for listening to the cries of their people and finding a way of tackling the increasing insecurity in the southwest region.
"It is sure that the governors will enjoy the kindness of history considering how they have stood their stand and weathered the raging storm against Amotekun in the interest of their people."
