INVESTIGATIONS CONTINUE ON ONDO PASTOR ALLEGED OF RITUALS... Police






All is not yet well  with  Pastor. Gbenga Akinbiyi, the founder of the Promised Land Prophetic Ministry (formerly Christ Apostolic Church Promised Land), located along shasha/ Owo road in  Akure Ondo state capital over allegations of engaging in rituals and fetish practices as the Nigeria police continue in their investigations on the matter.

It would be recalled that men of the police force in the state Iast tuesday invaded the church located at the Shasha area along Akure-Owo highway, Akure to dug the altar where placenta ,body of dead baby and other materials were alleged to have been planted by the founder in order to draw more people to the church over some years ago now

The policemen were said to have been sent from the office of the Inspector-General of Police, Force Headquarters, Abuja, based on a petition against the founder of the church

Investigations  gathered revealed that, things fell apart between the embattled pastor and some foundation members of the church after he broke away from CAC and changed the name of the church some years ago.

A source close to the church who preferred anonymity  that the policemen visited the church based on petition written by some former members of the church  with various allegations on related ritual matters against the pastor and some inner cacus of the  church, as a counter petition written to the IGP by Pastor Akinbiyi.

The allegations that contained in suit filed number MAK/NC/82cm/2019 at at the state  high court Akure as any moment for now the investigation are concluded the case will be mentioned for hearing at the court of Law, sources said, “the former members also observed and noted that the pastor planted some fetish materials at the altar  years ago , Many of them left the church. They also wrote a petition to the police to investigate the pastor.  "That must have been what made the policemen to dig up the church altar". Sources stated.

When contacted for comments, Evangelist Abiodun John, former personal assistant to the pastor of the church, and who was fingered as petitioner, declined comments referring to his legal counsel, Adelanke Olaposi  Akinrata who posits that police authority are still investigating the matter, and that organising press Parley by the embattled pastor under the pretext of church elders or by any means cannot subvert the cause of true investigations and justice.

Adding that, he and his client are not at this juncture ready to made any further comment yet, until  when proper investigations  have been carried out on the matter and getting to the court of Law to sort it out "I am not ready to made any comment now, neither my client, Abiodun John, when proper investigations are done, we get to the court of Law, we present our case and facts in that regard"he noted.

Meanwhile, members of the church said God will judge those behind the wicked allegation. As they described the allegation as baseless.

A legal practitioner, Abayomi Ojo who spoke on behalf of the church while addressing section of the media said members have unanimously agreed to rely on God to fight for the church.

He added that the report was targeted at tarnishing the image of the General Overseer of the Church, Pastor Gbenga Akinbiyi.

Ojo, a former chairman of Akure branch of NBA, added the allegation was spread by enemies of the church who are bent in destroying the work of God, as he fingered one Evangelist Abiodun John and others behind the whole issue

Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Femi Joseph, said the policemen went to the church as part of the ongoing investigation into some allegations against the pastor.

Joseph noted that, “There are some allegations against the pastor of the church, but we can’t disclose them until after our investigation. What our men did in the church was part of the ongoing investigation.”
