GROUP DRAWS ATTENTION OF EKSG TO FRAUD ROCKING EKSU





 The monumental fraud rocking the State owned university,  Ekiti state university, Ado -Ekitti has taking a new dimension as all alleged suspects and evidence have been secretly covered while suspects at Large.

In a petition by a group, known  as Ekiti Development Vanguard ( EDV)and signed by Dayo Arokodare and Funmilayo Ajsyi , chairman and Secretary respectfully  said that the fraud was perpetrated between January and July this year through manipulation of the institution’s portal by some officers of the institution to defraud several millions of naira.

It also posited further hat as part of strategy at covering-up the fraud, there was was alleged collaboration by some management staff of the college that the main principal suspect I he fraud should disappear to thin air

 The staff name withheld who was a staff in charge of the portal used the system to manipulate and divert several money paid into the university’s account by students' to an unknown secret account for the culprits

According to information,  before the deal was noticedd, not less than money running to two billion naira belonging to EKSU has been siphoned into private accounts of those involved in the deal.

While attempt by the management of the university to unravel those behind the fraud has been frustrated following the escape of the principal suspect who is said to be a junior staff in charge of the portal and this from reliable source was done in collaboration with the management staff involved in the dirty deal to cover-up

However, from investigation, the fraud was perpetrated after Prof Oye Bamidele was removed as the vice Chancellor by Governor Kayode Fayemi.

A panel set up by the management of the university to investigate those fingered in the deal, including a Prof, which nane was concealed was said to be aspiring for the position of the vice Chancellor, could not conclude its investigation following the escape of the principal suspect and also make the whole issue cloudy.

While all efforts at reaching  some of the principal officers of the university to comment on the fraud allegation was unsuccessful as some of them insisted that their comment may likely be prejudicial to the findings of the panel.

while the group are calling on the state government to set-up a panel of inquiry into the financial status of the institution to date and also review the reports of the said probe panel by the institution without further delay in the interest of peace and develpment of the institution
