POLITICS: AKEREDOLU PROMISES MORE DEVELPMENT FOR ONDO STATE
The Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN) over the weekend has joined members of the The Cathedral of The Holy Trinity, Idoani to celebrate the 4th Synod of the Diocese, with promises for more develpment for the people of the state.
In his message to the ceremony, the Governor, Arakunrin Akeredolu (SAN) noting to extend his all-round development to every part of the state for even develpment and overall progress of the state.
The Governor, who was represented by the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Mr. Dotun Owanikin, appealed for support of the people in his drive to improve the state through the provision of qualitative infrastructure across every part of the state.
Akeredolu saying Ondo State under APC has become the darling of the world, that everyone now wants to partner the state by doing business here. The welfare of the people is paramount to this government. This is being demonstrated through workers welfare, infrastructural development and opening up of business opportunities for the people."
While appealing to the people to support the governor for a second term in office inorder to put Ondo State on a sound footing of progress and development.
In his words, "I am making the of promise that this progressive march we have embarked upon is going to continue. The development we have in mind, which you are seeing, cannot reach everywhere in four years. By giving us your vote to run for a second term, we will have the opportunity to cover much more areas and get them modernised. Let the good work continue."
In his sermon, the Lord Bishop of the Diocese, Reverend Bolarinde Dahunsi spoke on the theme "Prayer: The Christians' Potent Weapon," taken from James 5: 16-18.
Reverend Dahunsi described prayer as communicating, listening and talking as well as asking for favour of God. The cleric explained that prayer was the only and best way Christians could get help from God.
According to him, prayer remained the only way to be free from the evil forces and enemies. Saying God answers prayers as long we put on the righteousness of Christ.
Reverend Dahunsi thanked God for being faithful to the cathedral.
The preacher commended Governor Akeredolu for being alive to the responsibility of paying workers regularly, construction and renovation of roads.
He however appealed for the inclusion of Irekari area in the road infrastructure.
