CRIME : ONDO POLICE PARADE MURDERERS OF SEPTUGENARIAN AND 45 OTHERS
The suspected murderers and other culprits during the parade by the police.
The Ondo Police command has vowed never to deal with acts of criminality in the state on the basis of tribe, religion or gender, rather on it's merit.
Speaking at a press briefing at the police headquarters in Akure, Ondo state capital, the state commissioner of police, Andie Udie make it clear that whether you are Yoruba, Hausa, Ibo, Fulani, Esan, Efik, Birom or white, the command shall deal appropriately according to the Law once a criminal is apprehended.
While positing that all the citizenry should feel free and go about their lawful business in any part of the state they may wish. Saying it is not true that Fulani Kidnappers and rapists have taken over the State.
The police boss while parading forty-five (45) suspects alongside two Young men that involved in the murder of a septugenarian, Kwakye Kwaku Richard and his twenty-seven (27) years old undergraduate daughter , Kwakye Tope by sniffing life out of the duo with automobile cable wire.
According to information, the two suspected murderer,Taisu Abubakar and Ayuba Idris who were later arrested at two different locations in the northern parts of the country, Sokoto and Kano states respectfully by men of the command based on useful information.
The two northerners, were security guard and gardner working with the deceased wo was said to be the supervisor at Ojomu Akintan estate, Olufoam area of Akure along Ilesa/ Benin expressway.
According to information, on the 2nd of May, 2019, at around 8.30am one Mr. Ojo Adegbusuyi, living along Ilesa/Owo expressway, Akure reported to the police the missing of the spetugenarian , her daughter and the two Hausa guards from their resident at the Olufoam area in Akure .
On receipt of this report, detectives from the Command swung into action and one Ayuba Idris male Aged 20 years that happened to be one of the security guards was arrested in Kano State on 16th May, 2019. The handset of the missing person and his suits were recovered from him. Upon interrogation, he confessed that he and the second security guard named Taisu Abubakar male, knew where the two missing persons were.
While later, the apprehended Ayuba led detectives to a building at Ojomo Akintan Estate, Olu foam, Ilesha/Owo expressway Akure, Ondo State where the decomposed bodies of Kwakye Kwaku Richard and Kwakye Tope earlier declared missing were found and evacuated to the State Hospital Mortuary, Akure for autopsy.
On the 28th of May, 2019, the detectives also tracked down the alleged Taisu Abubakar Aged 23 years in Sokoto State. One of the deceased Laptop computers and some clothes were recovered from him. Upon interrogation, Tasiu also confessed to the murder of the victims. The two suspects initially said that they killed the 71 year old Kwakye Kwaku Richard who was their employer because he refused to pay their three (3) months’ salary arrears.
The duo however later recanted their claim by admitting that the deceased did not owe them any salary. They said that they also decided to kill the daughter on the same day in order to cover their track since she saw them the day they killed her father. The suspects will be charged to court.
The police boss therefore appreciates the people of the state for the cooperation, also promises the commitment of the police towards the protection of their lives and property. Adding that they should also disregard any rumour of invasion or attack by any individual or group, saying there are security tentacles spread across all nooks and crannies of the state.Noting that on the part of the police, will ensure that criminals do not have any breathing space within the State.
Adding that crime does not have any colour, race ethnicity or religion. All that is required of all is to collaborate and synergise to ensure that the State is safe for all law abiding citizens
