CRIME : POLICE VOW TO UNRAVEL KILLERS OF ANGLICAN COMMUNION BURSAR IN ONDO
The Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG ) in charge of zone 11,comprising Oyo, Osun and Ondo states, AIG. Leye Oyebade has promised to unravel the killers of bursar of Akure Anglican Diocesan that was murdered in his cold blood pennultimate Thursday in Akure,Ondo state capital.
Speaking after paying a condolences visit to the Anglican communion, where the AIG and his entourage met the Bishop of the Diocese, Rt. Rev. Simeon Borokini and other clergies at hand vowed that the police will not relent in their efforts at making sure thatthat necessary strategy and information were taken to ensure that the killer of the Diocesan bursar was unravel.
The AIG commiserate with the Anglican Commnion on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, saying the incident was a great shock as the bursar of the Diocese, Mr Gabriel Abiodun was hatched down by gun men and carted away the sum of five hundred thousand (#500,000.00) saying his death is shocking.
While the AIG noted that necessary steps will be taken by the police in collaboration with other security agencies and relevant bodies at ensuring that the culprits were brought to book.
He informed of the bankers forum, where data, information and other useful hints can be gathered at helping the police tracking-up with the killers ,be a good platform to explore, while he changes the general public at giving useful information to the police in a situation like this, noting that community policing is best way to stamp-out crime in the society, as police promise protection and secrecy of their source (s).
Adding that with the strict instructions from the Inspector General of Police at stamping-out crimes and vices in the country, police are more battle ready in this dimension. Informing that very soon, a zonal security team will be in operation that will be working hand-in-hand in the zone at making sure that a 24-hours patrol of the zone, where prompt response to crimes will be in place.
While appreciating the entourage of the AIG and message from the Inspector General of Police (IGP), the Bishop of Akure Anglican Diocese RT. Rev. Simeon Borokini thank the police authority for the visit and charge them not to relent in their efforts at bringing the culprits to book.
The Bishop noted that the security of the country should not be toyed with, saying the church too will continue in their prayers at helping the country to pray for a more secure nation.
