CRIME : PALM WINE TAPPER IN POLICE NET OVER ARSON AND MURDER






The story of  Adedeji Williams Adenuga, the man suspected to have set his estranged girlfriend's family house ablazed  in Okitipupa local Government area of Ondo state, where eight (8) people were burnt to death can be described as a perpetual killer.



Adenuga, who spoke on Tuesday with journalists when paraded alongside other culprits apprehended by the ondo state police command in Akure, capital of the state.


Adenuga who confessed to have burnt the families of his ex-girl lover after she aborted the pregnancy - which she had for him with four litres of petrol that he used to sprayed the whole building in the early hours of the day.


 The forty-five year-old ex-convict, who noted that he stabbed-to-death her former wife,  Abiye Akinola in year 2000 over hot argument that the deceaded stole his money. Also got wild  penultimate tuesday and invaded the residence of his estranged girlfriend identified as Titilayo Sanumi  and set the occupant ablazed and took to his heels.



The palm wine tapper and same time a car watch, native of Ode-Erinje in Okitipula local government area of the state, after intense investigation Mr Adenuga best known as 'Ojuode' was arrested on Monday evening by the Police, in Ijebu Ode, Ogun state, after wandering under the bridge.



Speaking without emotion, Adenuga claimed he had invested heavily on his estranged girl-friend before she jilted him based on her elder sister's advice.

He narrated how both of them had been having relationship issue while always dragging themselves to the police station for settlement.

"What actually happened was that she (Titi) aborted the four months old pregnancy that she had for me while we were dating each other.

"Though, we have been having issue in recent times and i have spent lots of money on her. I gave her the sum of N30,000 to do petty trade as she sells satchet water.

"Later, i gave her a sum of N25, 000 to keep for me making N55, 000 but i think she spent the money lavishly becuase she was staying with me.

"And while she was staying with me, I spent money on her because there is this her eldersister called Jumoke who use to collect money from me.

"The elder sister (Jumoke) always control and teaches her what to do and the issue became open that we dragged ourselves to police station.

"We later resolved all the issue but surprisingly, Titi parked her property out my house saying her sister said I should come and pay N20, 000 for her dowry before she would return.

"I beggged them to give me time to look for money, and do the needful but they refused and started playing me, having spent so much for her.

"I now went to the station to report what she and her elder sister were doing to me but the police see it as a small issue and settle it amicably.

"After we left the station, they began to abused me and made jest of me - saying i am a failure and not even a man for dragging them to the police station. Infact, they threatened me.

"They said they would deal with me and even killed me if i did not desist from reporting them on the street. I now see those words as big threats.

"That same day, I planned to take an action and I went to the gas station at night, bought a fuel and stormed their house and poured petrol inside the room while i ran away." he said.

Undie Adie, Commissioner of Police in Ondo State said that Mr. Adenuga was apprehened following "intense manhurt and investigations" by the police.

"He (Adenuga) was arrested in Ijebu Ode area of ogun state after intense manhurt and investigation carried out by the police.

"Although, the girl whom which said jilted her is the only one that survive and she still still recieving treatment in the hospital" Adie added.
