NIGERIA DECIDES : CRITICISM AND COUNTER ACTION TRAIL ELECTION
As ondo state people join other Nigerians to elect legislators' to represent them on the floor of the state Assembly, the People's Democratic Party ( PDP) in the state has alleged the All Progressives Congress (APC) of distrupting voting process across the state.
Clement Faboyede ,the state chairman of the party who made the allegation while speaking with journalists at his Unit 5&6 Igbara-Oke, Ifedore local government area of the state noted that he got reports from across the state the ugly situation.
Faboyede accused the deputy Governor of the state,Agboola Ajayi of mobilizing thugs to snatch ballot papers and boxes at Ese-Odo and other riverine areas of the state.
In his words, " I have reports across the state that APC are going about with thugs snatching ballot boxes and papers,it even happened here in my unit,it took the combined efforts of the security agencies to chase them away.
" I was told the deputy Governor was moving around with thugs snatching boxes in Ese Odo and other riverine areas just to take majority in the House of Assembly," he said.
Also speaking in same vein, Ayo Akinyelure, the senator-elect for Ondo Central said the APC are not popular ,hence the reason why they resulted to violence and vote-buying during the House of Assembly election.
At his Iselu ward ,unit 2 in Idanre local government Akinyelure noted that the party unleashed thugs to distrupt the voting process in PDP zones in the area.
However ,the secretary to the state Government, Ifedayo Abegunde who described the process as peaceful, said the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has improved from previous elections.
Abegunde informed that voters were not induced in his polling unit, saying the APC would come out victorious in the election, based on the good performance of the party .
The Speaker of the State House of Assembly, David Oloyeloogun also denied any form of vote-buying by the party in his area at Isarun.
