NIGERIA DECIDES : ONDO PEOPLE TURN-OUT IN LARGE NUMBERS... Akeredolu Optimistic





The citizenry of Ondo state join other states of the federation to cast their votes in the Presidential and National Assemblies election of Saturday 23rd February with a large turn-out of voters  at the polls.


Monitoring the election at Owo, Akure, Ondo, Idanre and other towns in the state, Society Premium  note that at most of the wards and units visited during the election, voters trooped out as early in the morning to excercise their civic responsibilities.


At Owo, home town of the sitting Governor of the state, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu in ward 8 unit 4, as at 8.30am getting to the centre, National Youths Service Corps ( NYSC ) and other ad-hoc staff that were expected to be at their various units were seen at the venue protesting of non-payment of their training allowances and non-availability of logistics to take them to their units.




Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu who was at his voting centre in Owo town, Ijebu-Owo 2, ward 5 unit 6 around 9.42am was accredited and later cast his vote. Expressed optimism that his party, All Progressives Congress (APC) would emerge victorious in the elections at the end of the day


According to the governor, elections in any democracy setting is a thing that can be either way, there are so many ways it could go but whichever way it goes, we have to accept, noting that  APC will win the elections.  Saying the problems that led to the postponement of the election last week by INEC had been surmounted as the election has commenced.


While a skirmish was noticed during the election, involving a middle-aged man, name  not ascertain, as he was said to have involved in a fracas with some group around Akosile area in Akure, the state capital.
