2019 ELECTION : ONDO POLICE COMMAND HOLDS STAKEHOLDERS MEETING
Ahead of the 2019 elections in the country, the Nigeria police, Ondo state command has enjoined the citizenry to ensure that a peaceful atmosphere is embraced now, during and after the election.
Speaking in Akure Ondo state capital, during a stakeholders meeting and signing of peace agreement for the forthcoming election, the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) in charge of training and development, Jubril Yakubu said the Nigeria police is ready at giving the necessary and adequate security expected now,during and after the election in the country.
The occasion that witnessed representative of various political parties participating in election, he stressed that only in a peaceful atmosphere that progress and development can strive.
Yakubu posits that men and officers of the Nigeria police will continue to maintain their neutrality in the polity, saying the police will however give a level playing ground to all political parties during the election , without any biased.
The police boss warned that every political parties should ensure that they maintain law and orderliness, by playing the game according to the lay down rules and regulations guiding the election, while strict compliance on their followers is highly essential.
In his message, the newly posted commissioner of police in the state, Andie Undie seeks for the support of the politicians, and all stakeholders at making sure that free and fair election take place in all the eighteen (18) local government areas of the state.
While a peace pact was signed by all the political parties present at the occasion, as stakeholders like Independent National Electoral Commission ( INEC ) Army, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps ( NSCDC) State Security Service (SSS) and others were present.
