ONDO POLICE BURSTED KIDNAPPERS DEN...As two notorious kidnappers arrested
The Ondo state police command has arrested two suspected kingpin kidnappers in the state at a patrol team organised by the command as efforts geared at stamping-out kidnapping and related vices in the State.S
The police authority stated that the notorious kidnappers were arrested at Oba/Ose forese area in Akoko South West local government area of the state on thursday by the police special patrol team led by DCP Mudashiru Abudulahai said the suspects were identified to be some of the leaders of kidnappers gang terrorising the peace of travellers and people of the area.
The combined team of police formation was led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, DCP (operations) Mudashiru Abudulahai, Area Commander, Iwaro-Akoko, ACP Musiliu O. Aliu, Police Public Relation Officer, Femi Joseph and the DPO Oba-Akoko, having nothing less than eighty-seven men and officers drawn from Anti-kidnapping squad, Anti-cultist squad,Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) and men and officers of the Area command, comb the forest reserve at Oba-Ose- for almost five (5) hours plus before the arrest were made.
The exercise that took men and officers of the police patrol team twenty-kilometre (20) treck inside the forest reserve along the Oba/ Ose -Akoko road ,where the team located two (2) points where the kidnappers operated and were destroyed ,as three (3) young men were initially sighted in the entire forest as the exercise lasted for hours,before the arrest of the two (2) kidnappers.
At the two kidnappers locations in the thick forest, objects such as clothes suspected to be from their victims, shoes and cudgels were seen, as the DCP Abudulahai ordered for the destruction of the den immediately.
While he posits that 24/7 surveillance shall be maintain in the area with aim at getting down other kidnappers that were terrorising travellers and people of the state. Adding that such exercise at combing all suspected forest and areas across the state will be a continued exercise to sent criminals out of the state.
Also, the state police Commissioner, Olugbenga Adeyanju in his words to the team before the operation begins, posits that the police authority will make the state inhabitable for kidnappers and people of criminal intension. Noting that all police formations across the state have been mandated to double their efforts at making sure that the state is crime free.
Adding that special patrol team are also working 24/7 at ensuring safety of lives and properties during and after the festive season, urging the people to always give useful information at ensuring safety of the communities and state to the police he noted.
