ODHA : HOUSE SUES FOR PEACE... That due process must take course
The authority of the Ondo State House of Assembly, under the Speakership of Rt. Hon. Oleyelogun has reinstated the need for a peaceful atmosphere in the workings of the legislative arm of government in the state.
Speaking on the recent developments in the House in the state, the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Ogundeji Iroju who spoke on behalf of the House authority said peace is essential ingredient at sustaining the present state of democracy in the country.
According to him, thenrecent situation in the House in the state is an action done in error and one that violate the lay-down legislative procedure.
While he described the alleged purported impeachment of the Speaker and the Deputy Speaker as one that is null and void ,which runs fowl to the House procedures and the cinstConstit of the country.
While he posits that according to section 92 of the legislative procedure of the Constitution of Nigeria, no impeachmet has taken place and that the House under the present leadership has full right to continue with all legislative work and procedures.
While pointing to issue of forgery of signatures of some two members of the House by the factional group touting to be in control of leadership of the House as perjury.
Iroju posits that this action is criminal and punishable under the constConstit of the land, while calling on the relevant security agencies to note and take action in this regard.
He howeeho, appreciate the people of the state for their support, and vowed commitment of the House at making relavant and progressive legislation for the uplightment and development of the state in general.
