CRIME : MURDER OF TWO SPETUGENARIANS
The death of two aged women at Okeegbe area in Ikare akoko, Akoko north local government areas of the state pennultimate Tuesday night was gruesomely and mysteriously murdered by yet to be identified suspected ritual killers.
While one of the deceased, Mrs Medinat Ala, 72, the landlady of the house was killed in the house by the suspected ritualists,, who removed vital women parts, the other woman, simply identified as Onyanme, died in hospital.
Onyame, an Ebira woman was a tenant of the late Mrs Ala, who was killed with pestle after which her assailant removed her breast, womb, oesophagus and her virginal.
One of the neighbours of the deceased informed that the suspected ritualists attacked Onyame with the same pestle when she raised alarm as her landlady was being dealt with but left her unconscious for fear of being caught.
The tenant was said have died later in hospital.
Mrs Ala was said to be a petty trader selling materials in the frontage of her family house.
The Divisional Police Officer for Ikare Akoko, Mr Abayomi Fidelis who led his men to the scene of the incident said that the doors to the house were not broken before the dastardly act.
The DPO said a male tenant in the house, where the incident happened, Moses Olaniyi had been arrested by the police.
Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr Femi Joseph , said the command had begun investigation into the matter and made an arrest, as those involved will be brought to book.
