ONDO CELEBRATE JUNE 12








The Government and people of Ondo State has jonied Nigerians to celebrate 25th anniversary of  June 12 with a town hall Assembly.


The town hall Assembly with the theme " June 12 : yesterday, today and tomorrow " supposed to be chairman  by Dr. Kayode Fayemi, was however directed by Prince Olu Adegboro, a veteran journalist, with discussants like Dare Babarinsa, formerly of TELL Magazine and a veteran Journalist, Bayo Aborisade, a university Don and activist, and Ifeanyi Odilli, a pro-democracy activist.


Adegboro , in his remark at the occasion posits that untill all political parties across the country learn to make sure that true democracy exist in thier activities, the better for the country as a whole.


The discussants in their various submissions informed that June 12, 1983 is a process in the annal history Nigeria as  a country at ending the era of military in the goverment.


Adding that, while Chief MKO Abiola is that unity symbol that unites the country, irrespective of religion, ethnicity or level of education.


The discussants that quickly make a flashback to various incidents before, during and after the June 12,1983 struggle till date. Noting that all Nigerians decide and stand for June 12.


While Nigerians were there caution in their choice of politicians they vote to hold forth power, and the need wrestle the country from non-progressive peiole holding power in the various level of governance across the country.


Adding that, untill good governance and rightful people are in power before the spirit of June 12,1983 will not be in vain.


In his remark at the occasion, Ondo state Governor ,Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu's that was represented by his deputy, Hon. Agboola Ajayi noted that June 12 cannot be erroded in the history of Nigeria, appreciated efforts of vatious players in the struggle, especially Chief MKO Abiola.


Adding that, significance of setting the day aside by the federal government to honour some notable Nigerians and making the day a work free for the citizenry.
