COMMUNITY CRIED OUT OVER POOR STATE OF INFRASTRUCTURE
The people of Aponmu, in Akure south local government area of Ondo state have cried to the state government and relevant stakeholders over the bad state of infrastructures and negelect of the only public secondary school in the area.
The community that have nothing less than fifty (50) villages and camps make-up the ward one (1) in Akure south local government area of the state.
Speaking on the development in the school, chairman parents' teachers' Association ( PTA ) of Aponmu community grammar school, Hon. Fashola Richard Oluwasegun was said the poor state of infrastructures in the only school in the area is unbearable and unbelievable to the people outside.
According to him, the school that was established in September 1980, barley thirty-eght (38) years ago is now a ghost of itself as students in the school hardly have any access to good facilities conducive for learning environment. Adding that most of the existing classrooms were put in place with the efforts of the Association.
Noting that, their efforts could no longer sustain the school as government placed embargo on collection of any form of money in what so ever diguise.
Narrating further on development in the school, the PTA chairman said was the havoc wrecked on the school by rainstorm on May 3, 2018 when the roofs of the main examination Hall and that of other blocks of class room caved-in to the rainstorm, as students and staff now operate under the shed of trees in the school.
Corroborating the laments of the PTA chairman, some of the students that spoke on the development, expressed displeasure over the clustered situation of classrooms which they said is making learning difficult for students in the school, as the principal of the school was not around then to speak on the development in the school.
While the PTA, students call on the state government and relevant stakeholders to quickly come to the aid of the school in the interest of the future generations learning under the poor and hardship conditions.
