Agadagba communities in riverine area of Ondo state have warned against imminient crisis in the area if caution is not taken on the traditional stool in the community.

According to the people of the area, crisis is brewing in Arogbo- Ijaw in Ese-Odo Local Government Area of Ondo State over the plan to impose a new monarch for the community after eleven ( 11 ) years  of the demise of the former traditional ruler in the community.

Addressing  Journalists  at the NUJ Press Centre in Akure, Ondo state capital,  the Secretary of the ruling house, Mr. Roinland Oriamaja, who led other members of the ruling house, kicked against the emergence of  one  Chief Zacheaus  Doubra Egbunnu as the Agadagba-elect. Oriamaja called on the Ese-Odo Local Government and Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu to prevail on some agents of the government not to pervert justice in the kingship process of the community.

Disclosing that some indigenes of the community have elected Chief Zacheus Doubra Egbunnu as Agadagbaelect to replace Pere D. M. E. Eperetun, who died in February 2007, without due course . As the Perebiri Ruling House of Arogbo noted that the government should stay action on the installation of the monarch as there were cases in the court pending over the authentic name of the Ruling House and determination of who becomes the monarch of the community.

It was however disclosed that the stool had been subjected to a series of litigations, which some were still pending in court of Law ,while the Peribi House was a ‘judgement creditor’ in Suit No: HOK/1M/2009. Oriamaja alleged that some persons are trying to use government machineries to subvert the Chieftaincy Law and order of succession to the throne by creating Perebiyenmo Ruling House, which he said was a contravention against the customs and traditions of the community, which may lead to crisis in the area.
