AAUA CRISIS. : 46 PEOPLE ARRESTED
The current protest by the students of Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba Akoko, ( AAUA ) has leave 46 students and parents been arrested by men of the Nigeria police.
According to information, those arrested were allegedly attacking conveys of some top government's officials during the third day of the demonstration against tuition hike by the Adekunle Ajasin university, Akungba Akoko management.
Confirming the arrest, the state police spokesman, Femi Joseph said those arrested would be charged to court.
Some of the students who spoke with Society Premium alleged that the police open fire and teargas on them near governor's office at Alagbaka Akure during the protest, while the protesters scamped for dear life in the process the arrest were made.
However, the state Information Commissioner, Yemi Olowolabi posited that the protest had been hijacked by politicians.
While in his comments on the development, the state coordinator of the People's Democratic Party,(PDP) Grassroot Mobilisers Ondo state chapter,Comrade Kunle Ajibogun task the state government to quickly take a positive action on the matter before it degenerate to a deplorable situation.
