SPORTS: NIGERIANS TASK ON SPORTS DEVELOPMENT - Adegbenro

The need for sports development across the country has been identified as one of the ways to foster peace and physical development of well being of man.
A former commissioner for Works in Ondo state, Engr. Gboye Adegbenro made this assertion during the Inter-house sports of Jooro High school, Ibule in Ifedore local government area of the state. He said the time has come for government at all levels to encourage school sports so that the younger ones can be developed in sports related activities.
He said government at all levels ,should endeavour to encourage sporting events in schools as a way to make a balanced curriculum and also encouraging the younger ones to desist from social vices and encourage spirit of good sportsmanship.
Adegbenro who is also the captain of the Smokin Hill Golf course, Ilara mokin, was represented at occasion by his Media Aide , Kunle Ajibogun, said " It is high time the government at all levels braced up and encourage school sports in order to discover new talents,that are embedded in all this young ones, instead of using the energy abound in them for crime and vices.
Adding that , developed countries all over the globe, made use of this opportunity to haunt for talents in the young ones and excell in sports.
The forner commissioner for Works use the occasion to appealed to corporate bodies and wealthy Nigerian to assist the government in realising this objective of encouraging school sports,a cross the country.
In his words " I strongly appeal to corporate bodies and wealthy Nigerians to assist the government in realising the dream of talents haunt in sports by encouraging our young ones ,in order to desist and shun all crime and vices with their burning energy".
