HERDSMEN MEANANCE: AKURE KINGDOM WARNS AGAINST COMMUNAL CLASH
The people of Akure kingdom in Ondo state have call on the federal government to quickly call to order the activities of herdsmen in the area and across the country in the interest of peaceful coexistence of the country.
Speaking at the palace of Deji of Akure, the people of the town led by their leader, Asiwaju Olusola Agbi condemned in totality the activities of the herdsmen in the area most in the past and recent time on the citizenry of the town , people like Chief Olusola Falae, former Secretary to the government of the federation, Hon Dayo Awude, Hon. Justice Micheal Owoyemi and other citizenry of the town.
It was noted that , the herdsmen recently invaded the farms of the above mentioned people and others, also set the farms ablaze.
While the town and communities raised eyebrows at the unwholesome and barbaric attitudes of the herdsmen, noting that as a threat to the peaceful coexistence of the country, call for caution on their activities that may lead to communal clash if not properly curtailed and caution on time.
Akure community noted that the people of the area are noted for their hospitable and peaceful nature, hence warned against the drastic and cruel nature of the herdsmen as they continue to destroy their farms with their cattles and unleashed terror on the people as affecting their economy.
Many distinguished sons and daughters of the town and chiefs spoke against the activities of the herdsmen, vowed not to allow their lands be use for programme or project referred to as colony in the area.
