The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria ( IPMAN) has call for more understanding between the marketers and the government for a more robust workings.

Speaking after a meeting with the state government officials and the marketers in Akure, on the way forward on the issue of fuel shortage in the state and country, IPMAN chairman Ore depot, Engr. Shina Amoo said  Marketers in the state are ready to do everything humanly possible at making the product, premium motor spirit ( PMS) available in the state at all times.

The IPMAN chairman who also controls Ondo,Ekiti,Osun and parts of Edo and Kogi states respectively noted that the marketers are facing lots of problem at making sure that the product is readily available at all filling stations across the state , and also sell at the approved pump price.

While lamenting that the low numbers of fuel allocated to the state hinder such, noting that a situation that just only nine (9) trucks were allocated from Mosinmi depot at Sagamu, and only one (1) truck from Ibadan per day, which is not enough for Akure, the state capital talkless of the whole state.

The association however, solicits for the support of the state government at increasing the official allocation of fuel trucks to the state by the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation ( NNPC ) daily, so as to ease the problem of fuel shortage hitting the state.

The IPMAN who promises full support of government efforts at making life more meaningful to the citizenry, added that the association, IPMAN will continue to be in support of such efforts and  work in this direction with full cooperation of all members all over the state at selling fuel at the approved pump price.

It will be recalled that some members of the IPMAN were harassed and detained recently in the state.
