PANIC IN ONDO OVER DEADLY VACCINE IMMUNIZATION



The wild  rumour  of deadly vaccine been injected by the military  for immunisation  on school children across Ondo state  spread like harmattan  fire, despite the fact harmanttan is gradually setting to destabilise the school system and other activities alike.


Parents and guardians were seen runnig helter skelter  on tuesday across the length and breadth of the state to pick and withdraw  their children and wards from the various   schools , inorder to prevent them from been vaccinated from the deadly vaccines.



At many of the schools  visited,  parents and guardians  were seen at the gates and entrance of the schools  shouting  and wailing on the school authorities  to allow them access to pick their children and wards,  while some lock the gates, others that have no gates have no option that allowing them to pick  their children.




However , the   state Commissioner of Information, Yemi Olowolabi described the rumour as baseless, unfounded and urged the  general public to disregard it in totality.

The statement reads in part:  "The attention of Ondo state government has been drawn to a rumor in circulation that a forced vaccination exercises is being coordinated around schools in the state.

The state government wishes to inform parents, students, teachers, school authorities and the general public that the rumor is baseless, unfounded and should be disregarded.

Real time investigation across the state has shown that non of such things exist in Ondo state.

The state government therefore advises the public that school students and teachers to go about their normal activities. Should there be any strange occurrence, the appropriate authority should be informed immediately."



In a similar vein, the 32 Artillery Brigade, Akure  said their attention  has been drawn to the fake information making the around in Ondo State that Soldiers are giving poisonous vaccine to children and students of both Primary and Secondary Schools in Ondo State.

In a release  by the Artillery  public  Relations  Officer,  Adenegan  Ojo said  they  are using this medium to inform the general public to disregard such information. That, there is no ongoing medical outreach in Ondo State. The information is the hand work of mischief makers and should be treated as such.

"We are using this medium to appeal to the general public to help give useful information on any person or group of persons who are behind this malicious information against the military" he noted .
