NSCDC TASK ON PROFESSIONALISM
The Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps ( NSCDC ) Abdullahi Gana Muhammadu has task the Corp members to remain steadfast and committed to true professionalism in order to meet the corporate mandate of the organisation in the country.
Speaking in Akure, Ondo state capital at the commissioning of new structures at the command headquarters in the state, the Commandant who was represented at the occasion by Deputy Commandant General, DCG Madu Hilari Kelechi said the corp will continue in her mandate at giving adequate security and protection to both human and structures across the country , within their mandate .
The CG implores the men and officers of the NSCDC to see their duties as call to serve their fatherland without compromising in any capacity or positions they find themselves in the course of discharging their duties as members of the corps. While he noted that capacity building on the part of the NSCDC is essential to make them adequately equipped at tackling issues of security challenges facing the country.
Madu who appreciates the cooperation of the Ondo state government at supporting the corps and also by extension the communities at large in the state.
The NSCDC CG identifies the good synergy between the corps and other security agencies in the state as a measure at steeming down any occurrence of security challenges in the state and by extension Nigeria at large , calling for more robust collaboration.
In their goodwill messages at the occasion, the Brigadier General of the 32 Artillery Brigade Akure, James Ataguba appreciate the good cooperation existing between the Army and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps as a vital relationship at curbing crIme and steeming -down insurgency across the country.
He informed that nothing less than five thousand rifles (5000) have been given to the corps , with proper training and exercise on arms carrying and crime combating as measures to combat crime in the country. Also the state Commissioner of Police , Hilda Ibifuro Harrison noted that the good relationship between the Police and the corps in the state is of tremendous measure.
Other heads of security agencies like the Nigeria Custom and Exercise, Federal Road Safety Corps, Immigration Service amongst other felicitate with NSCDC on the occasion.
Blocks of administrative offices, hall, clinic , legal office and others were constructed for commissioning under the leadership of the state Commanantes, Adeyinka Fasiu Ayinla who posits that the NSCDC will continue pursue their security responsibilities at protecting of critical National Assets at all tiers of government including oil and gas assets, agriculture assets, power and communication assets and other infrastructures.
The Commandant appreciates the support and cooperation of individuals that have contributed to the building project including the state government. Adding that the command will continue to look up to more support from the public for the corps to make good headway in their mandate.
