ISIAKA ADELEKE GOES HOME AMID OF WAILING





As the remains of the former governor of Osun state , late Senator Isiaka Adeleke a.k. a Serubawon is been laid to rest at his country home , Ede in Osun state, angry supporters of the governor almost collapse canopy on  Governors Amosun, Akeredolu, Oyinlola  to chase out Idiat Babalola, who is a commissioner  nominee of Governor Rauf Aregbesola.

Babalola who was seated among the dignitaries including the younger brother of the deceased, Deji Adeleke, was chased out by the youths who alleged that the former governor was poisoned by some APC leaders.

The irate youths said Babalola was being touted to become the running mate of the anointed candidate of the APC in the state

Problem started when Babalola was sighted by the mourners who demanded that she should be sent out of the venue of the burial.

Despite pleas from family members of the deceased , the youths insisted and started shouting and raining curses on her.

The youths started shaking the canopy where Governors Ibikunle Amosun, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola and Deji Adeleke were seated to chase out Babalola who they described as a betrayer.

Babalola was escorted outside the house by Amosun and his security aides as the youths threw sticks and mangoe fruits at her, as they were chanting various songs and the atmosphere  tense and charged.

In same vein, the  Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Osun state Council has said the sudden death of the first executive governor of Osun state, Senator Isiaka Adeleke, has created a vacuum that will be difficult to fill in the state's political and social life.


The Union in a condolence message signed by its chairman, Mr. Abiodun Olalere and Secretary, Boladale Bamigbola, said even in death, Senator Adeleke remains a colossus that dominated the State's political space and impacted positively in the lives of several people within and outside the state.


According to the statement, the death of Adeleke, who until his death, was the Senator representing representing Osun West in the Senate, has robbed humanity in general, and Osun state in particular, one of the finest creatures, adding that his departure is a great loss to his immediate community of Ede, Osun state and Nigeria at large.


The NUJ said the foremost political gladiator and second to none philantropist, whom it recognised with Distinguished Award in Political Excellence in 2015, was tolerant and gave media men necessary support while in office as governor and Senator.

The Union recalled that the present Secretariat of NUJ in Osogbo was allocated to the Union by Sen. Adeleke's administration.

The NUJ advised people in positions of authority to learn from the impactful live of Senator Adeleke, by giving priorty to the wellbeing of the people, even when doing so will discomfort them.

While the youths, women and all the indigenes  of the town, Ede, worn a mourning look and the whole town show a serious grief over the sudden death of one of the foremost son ofthe town.
