EDUCATION : FG PROMISES MORE SUPPORT



President Muhammadu  Buhari  has promises the support of his administration  in the country at developing the educational sectors  in Nigeria,  with a view to realise the desired  goals of eradicating illiteracy in the country.


Speaking at the 28th convocation ceremony of the Federal University of Technology Akure  ( FUTA ) President Buhari  who was represented at the occasion by the Deputy  Executive  Secretary  of the Nigeria Universities  Commission  ( NUC ) , Prof. Chiedu  Mafiana  said that federal government  has determined at putting  education  at the front burner in policies  and implementation. 

Noting that at all levels  of education sectors  in the countrjy, high premium  of Quality and  quantitative  education is of priority  and major concern to the Buhari-led administration  in the country.



The President  that task for  effectiveness and high quality  of educational  delivery  across the country , noted that the present administration in Nigeria will continually  give the necessary  supports and logistics  towards achieving  the said positive goals in the education sectors  in the country.



While appreciating the great and giant strides recorded at FUTA under the able leadership  of Prof.  Gregory  Adebiyi  Daramola  and  his management  team, in both areas of human and Infrastructural development  in the institution, charged  that the institution, FUTA should  strive more in areas of technological developments  and researches geared toward repositioning  the country  in areas of Technology.


Ondo State Governor,  Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu congratulates FUTA on the occasion,  promising the support and  determination of his administration  in the state at giving education  the best place it deserves  in the policy making of his government.


Earlier  in his speech,  the Vice Chancellor of the Institution,  Prof  Adebiyi  Daramola appreciate  the support  of all at making the institution  rank high amongst commity of universities globally,  posits  that the quality  of graduands the university  churns-out  yearly are of standards  that can compete well in the job market.

Enumerating various projects  and great feats recorded  under his leadership  as the Vice Chancellor of the  institution, charged the graduating students to be a good  ambassadors  of the institution, as certificates and  degrees were awarded  to the 4,241 graduands. While Dr. Akinwumi Adesina,  former Minister of Agriculture and  of African  Development Bank  ( ADB  ) was given  honorary degree award of the institution  amidst of dignitaries  far and  near.
