ONDO SALARY ARREARS : AKEREDOLU SET-UP COMMITTEE
As the new Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu resumes office today, Monday for his first official assignment in office, he has directed that all committee be set-up to look into modalities of how the salaries arrears will be paid in the state.
Akeredolu speaking at a prayer session and maiden meeting with all levels of workers at the Governor's office ground ,Akure directs that a committee should be put in place at working out modalities of how the workers salaries arrears will be upset soon.
The Governor who sympathised with the workers over the non payment of the salaries arrears, noting that workers welfare is paramout to his administration and promised a robust working relationships to all the workers.
His words " Thank God the Accountat General of the state has resurrects, after a while, think he should be able to tell us more why the salaries have not been paid over a long period now and just now a committee will be set-up to work-out modalities on settling this salary arrears first ".
He noted that the workers are one key factor at driving the wheel of governance, hence charged them to be committed and dedicated to duty at all times, for the work to minimal and effective.
Akeredolu who promised the determination of his administration to key-into tapping the bitumen deposit in the state for exportation and developing the state too,posits that Agriculture and youths development will also be paramount and dear to him.
While the Governor quickly summoned a meeting with all heads of accounting in all ministries, parastatals and MDAs across the state.
It will be recalled that ,few days to expiration of last administration, the state Accountant General, Mr. Olu Akindolure was said to have went under-ground for reasons that may be in connected with the state of finance of the Sunshine state, as the workers and pensioners are been owed seven (7) months now.
Present at the meeting, the Deputy Governor, Hon. Agboola Ajayi, head of service , Barr. Toyin Akinkuotu, all Permanent Secretaries, heads of agencies and the workers with political associates and friends.
Earlier, the Head of Service, Toyin Akinkuotu promised the new administration of the support of entire workforce of the state , as he mentioned the issue of the salaries arrears owing the workers in the state.
