ONDO: LAWMAKERS, CITIZEN SUE FOR PEACE
Elehinle, who made the plea in Akure, the Statecapital ,in a chat with journalists over the affairs things in the state,especially happeningsand situation in the state House ofor Assembly, noted that all sides and groups to sheath their swords in the interest of the state.
According to him, he said that all political activities have been grounded for the past few months over a leadership tussle within the House and asked them to put their house in order.
" Our Assembly members should know that, people voted them into their variuos position and should as well, put the interest of people at heart far above their personal interests " he added .
He however, advised the warring factions to bury their hatchets and rally round the in coming government of Rotimi Akeredolu which should be seen as Government of all and sundry .
Hon. Ogundeji Iroju, member state House of Assembly , representing Odigbo 1 constituency informed that the crisis rocking the Assembly is a clear matter ought not to get to the level it reached if people should abide by verdict of the people.
Ogundeji who spoke on behalf of other twelve ( 12 ) legislators added that since the former Speaker has been duly impeached, she ought to step down honourably without allowing crisis to erupted in the House, while noting that since the crisis started, some faction of the Lawmakers have been receiving threat calls on their lives.
He urged the Inspector General of Police to quickly intervein on the matter, before it gets out of hands in the interest of peace and security of the generality of the citizenry.
