NDDC : OSIBAJO POSTPONES ONDO MEETING
The proposed visit of acting President Yemi Osinbajo to Akure, the Ondo State capital, last Friday to have meeting with NDDC stakeholders and commission some projects in the state have been postponed till Monday, 20th February, 2017.
Information gathered said the acting president’s plane had hovered over Akure airspace for several minutes but could not land due to bad weather.
While it was also gathered that the acting president communicated the cancellation to Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State after waiting for several hours at the Presidential lounge, in Abuja, hoping that the bad weather will abate.
The acting president Prof Yemi Osinbajo who is expected to commission the Ondo State international events and culture center – The Dome, the Mega School at Ijapo estate Akure, and also hold a town hall meeting in the state capital with stakeholders of the Niger-Delta Development Commission (NDDC ) at the Dome.
The Governor of Ondo State, Dr Olusegun Mimiko who apologised to the already seated dignitaries and people of the state for the postponement of the acting President visit which he said was not intensional, but due to bad weather that is beyond human control.
However, the stage is now set at receiving the acting number one man in the country and his entourage come Monday as the arena of the Dome is well knitted, wearing a new look.
